COURTHOUSE,
March 20 –A man from Jamaica
who has been in the US since
2000 was detained by ICE on
March 10, after a drug arrest
in Queens, NY on March 5.
On March 20 he
filed a habeas corpus petition
in the US District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it.
The filing
says that he was initially
admitted in B2 visitor status
in 2000 at JKF Airport, also
in Queens. He is the father of
a 12-year-old US citizen
child.
The case
was assigned to Judge Arun
Subramanian.
This case is
Nelson v. Arteta, et al.,
1:26-cv-2307 (Subramanian)
