SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 23 – Alfredo Rodriguez
was sentenced to 60 months in
2018 for being part of a drug
dealing gang in The Bronx.
Then he was charged with a
death.
On February 17, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Loretta A. Preska held a
change of plea proceeding.
Inner City Press covered it.
Rodriguez
was pleading guilty when the
Assistant US Attorney asked
him to confirm he was
admitting guilt as "Martinez'
death."
The affirmative
answer was apparently enough.
The plea was
accepted and sentencing set
for May 17 at 10 am. It was
held on July 6, 2022 and he
got time served.
Jump cut to December 23, 2025
when another Rodriguez in the
over-all case, Justin
Rodriguez was brought before
SDNY Magistrate Judge Sarah L.
Cave on a Violation of
Supervised Release. His
fill-in counsel consented to
detention; his original lawyer
may make a bail application.
The case is still
USA v. Rodriguez, et al.,
1:17-cr-283 (Preska)
