SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 21 – Timothy
Glover is
charged with
firing a gun
into the air,
three separate
times, in the
Bronx in
recent
months.
On
August 15,
2023 he was
before U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York
Magistrate
Judge
Katharine H.
Parker. Inner
City Press was
there, the
only media in
the SDNY Mag
Court.
Glover's
Federal
Defender said
he should be
released on
bond. But
Glover laughed
when asked if
he felt OK.
The Defender
noted that a
prior charge
had been
dropped due to
incapacity.
Judge Parker
said Glover
must be
detained as a
danger to the
community.
On
August 23,
2023 Glover
was formally
indicted on
five counts
and his case
wheeled out to
District Judge
Naomi Reice
Buchwald.
Jump
cut a full
year forward
to August 20,
2024, when
Judge Buchwald
accepted a
report finding
Glover
competent to
stand trial,
and set a
schedule:
"Minute Entry
for
proceedings
held before
Judge Naomi
Reice
Buchwald:
Status
Conference as
to Timothy
Glover held on
8/20/2024.
Status
conference
held on August
20, 2024.
Defendant,
defendant's
counsel, and
the Government
were present,
and the
duration was
15 minutes.
The Court
accepts and
adopts the
psychological
report finding
that defendant
is competent."
On
February 6,
2025 Glover
pled guilty to
Count 1, "an
expedited PSR
was ordered."
On
March 21
Federal
Defenders
wrote in
asking for
time served,
with name of
mental illness
redacted.
The
case is USA v.
Glover,
1:23-cr-438
(Buchwald)
