Habeas in SDNY

COURTHOUSE,
Sept 1 – A man from Ecuador,
in the US since 2008, has been
detained by ICE in 26 Federal
Plaza, he says.
On September 1 he
filed a habeas corpus petition
in the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it.
The
petition says he has lived on
39th Street in Flushing,
Queens until he was arrested
outside that residence on
August 31. He has a 2-year-old
US-citizen child.
His habeas
petition was wheeled out to
Judge Arun Subramanian who
ordered he should not be
removed from SDNY, EDNY or DNJ
without court approval, and
required a response by
September 3.
