EXCLUSIVE,
Dec 9 – US Homeland Security
Investigations has asked the
City of New York of a list of
those in the homeless shelter
at 825 East 141st Street in
the South Bronx who are not
citizens or nationals of the
US and retain criminal
histories for crimes ranging
from murder and rape to
burglary and assault of a law
enforcement officer.
The Adams
administration, described as
previously working
cooperatively, has deemed this
subpoena too broad, triggering
a lawsuit filed on December 9
in the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it.
The US
Attorney's Office, proposing a
briefing schedule of January 2
and January 9, notes that "the
parties have conferred
cooperatively."
There is a
new NYC Administration taking
office on January 1. Watch
this site.
