SDNY COURTHOUSE, August 1 – A woman hit by
a baseball bat at a New York Yankees game on June 2 says
she suffered a traumatic brain injury and filed a lawsuit
against the Yankees on August 1 in the U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City
Press nearly immediately found it.
The Yankees were playing the
Cleveland Guardians when a Guardians player lost control
of his bat. It traveled "over the protective netting and
struck Plaintiff Stephanie Duluc in the head in her
season-ticket seats... The incident was captured on the
YES Network broadcast of the game."
She says the netting in her section was
"materially lower that the netting protecting the adjacent
sections behind home plate."
Duluc says she is or was a
healthcare executive but "has been unable to return to her
professional role." She wants "the full measure of damages
the law allows."
