March 14 –
In New York
City when
there is a
shooting,
often the
charge is for
being a felon
in possession
of a gun or
bullet, in
order to
Federalize it.
On July 13
federal
prosecutors
announced
"charges
against AUSTIN
MORRISHOW and
CURTIS WHITE
for possessing
ammunition
after
conviction of
a
felony.
MORRISHOW and
WHITE were
congregated
outside on a
busy sidewalk
in the Bronx
the Friday
before the
July Fourth
holiday
weekend when
they fired
multiple shots
at three cars
in the Bronx,
New York,
hitting and
seriously
injuring a
five-year-old
child sitting
in the
backseat of
one of the
cars.
WHITE was
arrested this
morning in
Hazleton,
Pennsylvania,
pursuant to a
criminal
Complaint and
was presented
earlier today
in the
Southern
District of
New York
before U.S.
Magistrate
Judge Ona T.
Wang.
MORRISHOW
remains at
large."
Inner City

the U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York
Magistrates
Court, the
only media
there, when
White was
presented on
July 13. He
got a Federal
Defender, who
said he
consented to
detention.
The case had
yet to be
indicted.
On
July 27, the
case was
indicted and
wheeled out to
Judge Paul A.
Crotty.
On
February 29,
2024, the
prosecutors
announced the
arrest of
AUSTIN
MORRISHOW, who
was charged
with
possessing
ammunition
after
conviction of
a
felony.
MORRISHOW and
a
co-defendant,
CURTIS WHITE,
were
congregated
outside on a
busy sidewalk
in the Bronx
the Friday
before the
July Fourth
holiday
weekend last
year when they
fired multiple
shots at three
cars...
MORRISHOW, who
had been on
the run since
June 30, 2023,
following the
shooting, was
arrested
yesterday
afternoon in
the Bronx, New
York.
MORRISHOW’s
and WHITE’s
cases are
assigned to
U.S. District
Judge Loretta
A.
Preska.
MORRISHOW was
presented and
arraigned
before U.S.
Magistrate
Judge Jennifer
E. Willis
today, and
WHITE was
previously
arrested and
arraigned
before U.S.
District Judge
Paul A.
Crotty.
Then
in the docket:
"BAIL
DISPOSITION:
Detention on
consent
without
prejudice.
*Conference
before
District Judge
on 3/14/24."
Jump
cut to
February 5,
2025 when
Curtis White
pled guilty to
Count 2, with
sentencing set
for May 20 at
10 am.
On
March 14 the
US Attorney's
Office wrote
in that Judge
Preska should
apply the
attempted
second degree
murder cross
reference
under Section
2A2.a of the
guidelines.
The
case is now US
v. Morrishow,
et al.,
23-cr-383
