Meadow Bribed Cooperator For Insider Trading Info Now Ronald Smith Also Indicted & Bailed

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 30 – As the second of four insider trading prosecutions announced back on June 29, 2023 by the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jordan Meadow was charged with using inside information stolen from a major investment bank in NYC.

Meadow offered and agreed to provide items of value, such as Rolex watches, to a friend, Steven Teixeira, in exchange MNPI that Teixeira obtained by secretly accessing confidential work documents on a personal laptop computer  belonging to Teixeira’s then-girlfriend, an executive assistant at the Investment Bank.  The documents on the Laptop contained MNPI about planned corporate acquisitions in which the Investment Bank served as an advisor.

The unnamed Investment Bank was Morgan Stanley.

That case is US v. Meadow, 23-cr-313 (Carter)

Jump cut to March 30, 2026 when, with Jordan Meadow cited, Ronald Smith was arrested and presented on an indictment. Inner City Press live tweeted it:

Today SDNY charging RONALD SMITH with inside trading on Score Media and VMWare: "SMITH used confidential corporate deal information stolen from an investment bank in NYC to make millions of dollars. Case was assigned to 1 judge, then reassigned to another

Now at presentment of Ronald Smith in SDNY Magistrates court - he has been brought in, his lawyer is Jacob Kaplan of Agnifilo Intrater. (Moments ago, a more dressed-down defendant was taken up for arraignment before Judge Rakoff)

All rise! Judge Wang: Date of arrest? AUSA: Self-surrender at 8:30 am. Judge: You have been indicted for conspiracy to commit security fraud, wire fraud, falsification of records.

AUSA: We propose release on $1 million bond with 3 co-signers, Dist of CT, etc. He is released.

This case is US v. Smith, 1:26-cr-114 (Daniels)
