SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Oct 17 – Two defendants
charged with conspiracy to
import fentanyl into the US,
while living in Spain and the
UAE, were brought before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Jennifer E.
Willis on September 30. Inner
City Press was there, the only
media in the SDNY Mag Court.
Thread:
OK - now at
fentanyl precursor importation
case against Bartlomiej Huk
and Wiktor Andrzej Szeliga,
with a Polish interpreter...
Judge Willis:
Time of arrest?
AUSA: 6:10 pm
yesterday...We seek
detention.
Federal Defender:
We consent without
prejudice.
In fact,
Szeliga says he will be hiring
his own lawyer. He was dressed
in what appeared to be an
African-print suit. Huk has a
CJA lawyer. His a/k/a on the
complaint is X, while Szeliga
is BJ or Bojack.
The
complaint has photos and
advertising message of the
type in the record Hubei
Amarvel prosecution in which,
after trial, the defendants
were sentenced to 15 and 25
years.
On October 17,
Szeliga filled out an
affidavit - not public, at
least not yet (Inner City
Press got the CJA affidavit of
Michael Avenatti unsealed) -
and got a free / publicly paid
lawyer. Where did the money
go?
