SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Nov 13 – A man with no fewer
than four names was presented
on November 12 in the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrates Court but would
not consent to identity. Inner
City Press was there, the only
media in the SDNY Mag
court.
He was
arrested by DEA on a warrant
out of the Eastern District of
Michigan, for conspiring to
distribute and possess with
intent to distribute
fentanyl.
But after his
appointed Federal Defender
conferred with him in the
holding cell, she emerged to
say that he would not waive an
identity hearing. The
AUSA said it could be done by
attorney proffer right then.
But Judge Ona T.
Wang put it down for November
19 at 11: 30 am before the
duty Magistrate Judge. Unless
he files before then.
The case
is US v. Garcia-Mota,
24-mj-3934 (Wang)
