SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
March 19 – A defendant was
presented on March 19 on
charges related to 500 grams
of meth in a lab with an
industrial pill press, before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Katharine H.
Parker. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
SDNY Mag Court.
The
defendant flew to the
Dominican Republic the day of
the search warrant on the lab.
He was arrested six months
later when he flew back into
JKF airport. The AUSA asked
that he be detained as a risk
of flight.
His lawyer
said he is a naturalized US
citizen and that his passport
has been taken away.
Judge
Parker ordered him freed on
$50,000 bond, GPS and three
suretors, conditions to be met
before release.
The case is
USA v. Burgos, 1:25-mj-905
(Parker)
