In Case of Drugs from Philly to Washington Heights Man Gets Time Served US Asked 42 Months

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 22 – A man stopped in a car in Washington Heights in January 2025 with a backpack of narcotics said to come from Philadelphia is up for sentencing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on April 14.

He pled guilty to a guideline of 70 to 87 months. His sentencing memo acknowledges that, but notes that he has already been incarcerated for 15 months and is a devout Christian with no criminal record who faces removal to the Dominican Republic.

He is asking for time served.

On April 14 the US Attorney's Office wrote in asking for 42 months.

On April 22, he got time served and one year supervised release.

The overall case is USA v. Castro-Corona, 1:25-cr-323 (McMahon)
