Narcotics in Uniform Is Bailed No
Prescriptions but Narcan

April 3 – A
defendant charged with mailing
illegal narcotics from US Post
Office while wearing his EMT
uniform was presented on April
3 before U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Chief Magistrate
Judge Sarah Netburn. Inner
City Press was there.
The
Assistant US Attorney did not
seek detention - but wanted a
condition that the defendant
be required to tell his
employer, an EMT company,
about his arrest and the
charged.
Judge
Netburn said she's never heard
of that before, and inquired
into the connection.
Ultimately she
declined to impose the
requested condition, instead
saying he must not administer
drugs (other than Narcan and,
incongrously, oxygen).
He is also
not to got to the consulate or
UN Mission of Mexico.
