SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 5 –
A
man charged in
a
three-defendant
narcotics
conspiracy and
then with a
confrontation
with US
Marshals in
The Bronx was
up for
sentencing on
January 5.
U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York
Judge Sidney
H. Stein held
the
sentencing.
Inner City
Press attended
and covered
it.
Since
the two
arrests, the
defendant has
gotten a job
repairing
cars, and
helping to
support his
mother, a chef
who is
temporarily
out of work
after surgery.
The defendant
while out on a
date was the
victim of
stabbing that,
as shown at
sentencing,
left his hand
injured.
Judge
Stein inquired
into the
defendant's
plan to go
back to
school, then
sentenced him
to time
served, three
years of
supervised
release and 80
hours a year
of community
service,
speaking to
other young
people.
The
overall case
is US v. Ross,
et al.,
19-cr-913
(Stein)
