Woman Arrested in TGI Fridays on 2018 Sued and Approaches Trial With Video in SDNY

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Maxwell book

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Jan 14 – In a TGI Friday's on lower Broadway in Manhattan on October 4, 2018 Maggalean Mosby was monitoring the police arrest of an agitated patron and her friend who had been spat at when she herself was arrested and abused, she says. She sued.

On January 9, 2023 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Sidney H. Stein held a final pre-trial conference. Inner City Press went and covered it.

Judge Stein inquired into videos to be presented at trial, and ruled on motions in limine.

On January 13, the parties put in a joint letter in which they agree to the admissibility of most of the TGI Friday's Security Video, and NYPD Body Worn Camera exhibits.

They also stipulate that Mosby was in custody for 22 hours and thirty nine minutes.

The case is Mosby v. City Of New York et al., 20-cv-1485 (Stein)
