Bombs in SoHo Pleads Guilty
after Cupped Ears and Hopped in
SDNY

COURTHOUSE,
Jan 20 -- This week DOJ
announced charges against
MICHAEL GANN alleging that he
manufactured at least seven
improvised explosive devices
using precursor chemicals
ordered on the internet,
stored at least five IEDs and
shotgun shells on adjoining
rooftops of residential
apartment buildings in the
SoHo neighborhood of
Manhattan, and threw at least
one IED onto the subway tracks
of the Williamsburg Bridge.
On
July 25 Gann was arraigned
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrate Judge Ona T.
Wang. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
SDNY Mag court.
Sitting beside his Federal
Defender, Gann cupped his ears
and hopped up and down.
After a not
guilty plea, he consented to
detention. He was set to see
the assigned District Judge
Dale E. Ho on August 13.
And docketed on
January 20, 2026, he pleaded
guilty: Michael Gann held on
1/16/2026. Defendant
withdraws previously entered
not guilty plea and enters a
plea of GUILTY to Count One
and Count Two of the S1
Superseding Information.
Sentencing is scheduled for
May 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Detention continued.
