Man Indicted for Bronx Armed Robbery Was Linked by Polo Hoodie Now Gets 48 Months

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 28 – There was an armed robbery of a convenience store on Boston Road in The Bronx on November 30, 2023. A perpetrator was wearing a mask and blue surgical gloves, but also a black Polo hoodie.

Godfrie Cole was captured on video back in 3475 Bivona Street in The Bronx in the same hoodie. He was arrested, and then the case was Federalized.

He was presented in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates court, which Inner City Press exclusively covers, on January 18, 2024 and detained.

On January 30, his case was indicted and assigned to District Judge Analisa Torres.

In April 2024 the case was reassigned to Judge Paul A. Engelmayer.

Jump cut to April 14, 2026 when for a sentencing set for April 28 the Federal Defenders wrote in asking for 48 months.

Then on April 21 the US Attorney's Office wrote in asking for 63 months.

On April 28, he got the 48 months.

The case is US v. Cole, 24-cr-57 (Engelmayer)
