Exclusive,
April 4 – Pierre Dadak, a
reputed arms dealer and
fraudster, was extradited to
the US District Court for the
Southern District of New York
and presented before SDNY
Chief Magistrate Judge Sarah
Netburn on March 14. Inner
City Press was there, the only
media in the SDNY Mag
Court.
The
just-unsealed indictment is
for wire fraud (pretending to
represent a luxury brand and
stealing), aggravated identity
theft, extortion and
transactions involving a
diamond-encrusted watch and a
luxury vehicle.
Previously, Dadak has been
linked to arms sales in South
Sudan, The Gambia, Burma,
Colombia, Libya, India,
Cameroon, Argentina, Chile,
Guatemala, and the United Arab
Emirates (currently arming a
faction in Sudan).
Dadak, as is the case with
most but not all of those
extradited in, consented to
detention, with a retained
(paid) lawyer.
On April 4, back
in the Magistrates Court,
Dadak plead guilty - to a
single count, Count 1, Wire
Fraud. Sentencing was set for
July 9 at 11:30 am.
