Magistrate
Judge Gorenstein asked if
there would be a second
indictment, for bail jumping.
There hasn't been one yet, the
AUSA replied.
Judge
Gorenstein said, I assume you
will be asking for detention,
based on the past? Yes - and
the defense lawyer consented
to it.
Beato-Estrella was detained.
Jump cut to May
7, 2024 when Beato-Estrella
pled guilty to Counts 1s and
2s in the Magistrates Court -
and remained detained.
On September 18
he reappeared in SDNY
Magistrates Court to plead
guilty in another case,
transferred from the Eastern
District of Pennsylvania, with
a 10 year minimum.
This case is US
v. Beato-Estrella, 24-cr-500
