SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Nov 10 – A woman who
says she was sexually abused
in the Rikers Island jail from
2012 through 2015 is finally
inching toward trial, ten
years later.
On
November 10 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Sidney H. Stein held a
proceeding to rule on motions.
Inner City Press was there,
covering the case.
Judge Stein
kept some officers in the case
and dismissed others. It was
said that the plaintiff, to
avoid sexual abuse, defecated
on herself, and attempted
suicide repeatedly.
The case
is Means v. City of New York,
et al., 1:17-cv-5374 (Stein)
