Bronx Man Found With 2 Guns and Glassines of Heroin Pled Guilty to 63 Months Asks No Jail

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 23  – A man found with two guns and more than 150 glassine bags of heroin in his Bronx apartment came to plead guilty on August 20 before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge J. Paul Oetken. Inner City Press was there.

The complaint said that police were led to his apartment by a complaint by a person who said the defendant pulled a gun on them, and described the gun. The complaint has two photos of guns.

The plea deal has a guideline of 63 to 78 months.

On December 23 his Federal Defender wrote in asking for six years of supervised release, with the first year to be spent on home confinement. Sentencing is set for January 8.

The case is USA v. Smith, 1:24-cr-688 (Oetken)
