SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 3 – Adrean Combs has been
indicted as part of a crack
cocaine distribution
conspiracy.
On October 22 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Edgardo Ramos held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Combs wanted to
switch appointed counsel, to
the CJA lawyer on duty on
October 22 - from Debevoise
& Plimpton.
Judge Ramos
joked then that she had been
on the case for all of ten
minutes.
"I'm ready to
move forward," she joked. But
she and the other defense
counsel agreed to push the
case back to November 19, in
person it was said.
Jump cut to March
17, 2022 - the proceeding in
the case was held on the
phone, with a call-in line,
and Inner City Press covered
it. One of the defense
counsel, whom Inner City Press
had covered earlier in the
afternoon at an unrelated VOSR
proceeding, was patched in by
a colleague.
The
AUSA said that
plea offers
have been
pending since
May and July
2021.
Jump cut to
October 3, 2024, when the US
Attorney's Office wrote in
that for trial, an NYPD
undercover officer should be
allowed to testify by
pseudonym.
The case is
US v. Santos, et al.,
20-cr-481 (Ramos)
