SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 25 – Amid reports of
investigation against Sen.
Robert Menendez for taking
gold bars, Inner City Press'
sources on September 21 it to
expect on Friday, September 22
an appearance in Federal court
in Manhattan by Menendez and
his wife Nadine Arslanian, now
facing trial alone. This
scoop
was true.
Later a
superseder was unveiled,
including charges of bribes to
act for Qatar.

Menendez filed a motion to

Judge Stein granted some
unsealing - including of some
of the material in the vault

On March 17 Fred
Daibes asked to delay
surrender to prison, citing
among other things that he
like Hana has received a
defense subpoena to testify in
Nadine Menendez' trial,
probably not before April 4.
He says this would require
being in a SHU.
After a long jury
selection, late on March 21
the jury was selected - them
defense peremptory challenges
questions by the AUSA, thread
On March 24 the
openings (Coburn went short)
and first witness, FBI Agent
Aristotesis Kougemitros - it
seemed it might be repetitive
and long. Despite when Bob
Menendez's counsel said in
asking to delay his
sentencing, Bob was nowhere to
be seen...
But on March 25,
he and his co-defendant got
surrender delayed to May 19:
"ORDER as to Robert Menendez,
Wael Hana, Fred Daibes. The
Court is in receipt of letters
from defendants Wael Hana and
Fred Daibes requesting 45-day
adjournments of their
surrender dates. The Court
grants these requests.
Accordingly, defendants shall
surrender for service of their
sentences at the institution
designated by the Bureau of
Prisons on or before 2:30 pm
on May 19, 2025. (Signed by
