March 27 – Amid reports of
investigation against Sen.
Robert Menendez for taking
gold bars, Inner City Press'
sources on September 21 it to
expect on Friday, September 22
an appearance in Federal court
in Manhattan by Menendez and
his wife Nadine Arslanian, now
facing trial alone. This

2025.

Nadine Menendez' lawyer wrote
in "in preliminary response to
the Court’s Order at the end
of the trial day today,
concerning whether asserting a
FARA exemption is an
affirmative defense, requiring
pretrial notice...I have not
yet located authority for the
proposition that asserting a
FARA exemption is an
affirmative defense in this
context, but I am continuing
to research this issue."
