SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Jan 7 – A man who
entered the US from the former
Soviet Union in 1993 was
detained by ICE on January 6.
He filed a habeas corpus
petition on January 7 in the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York,
where Inner City Press found
it.
The petitioner
was convicted of health care
fraud.
The
petition emphasizes that he is
stateless, and annexes a
letter from Tajikistan that he
"cannot be considered as a
citizen of the Republic of
Tajikistan." Where,
then?
The case is
Normatov v. Francis,
1:26-cv-132 (Unassigned)
