UN GATE,
March 5 – How corrupt
and decrepit has the UN system
become under Antonio Guterres,
in this case due to Guterres?
Today's example is again from
Vienna,
On March 5
UNODC whistleblowers told
Inner City Press more:
Dear Matthew
Russell Lee:
Thank you for your service to a better
UN. You are a champion. The world has
turned the page on the Ghada Waly UNODC Cairo
self-promotion corruption debacle and
Secretary General Guterres still sits on the
fence on her replacement, all while
unqualified junior candidates lobby for the
top UNODC job. Guterres corrupt nepotistic
team remains underwhelmed by possibility of
another low level diplomat becoming a
Under-Secretary General and Executive
Director. This as Permanent Missions to the UN
are told his team is looking for a notable
replacement with actual understanding of drugs
and crime or terrorism, but nobody good wants
to clean up the Guterres Waly corruption mess
and good ones keep passing on the job. The
hope and thinking now is a manageable low
profile USG that restores UNODC to former
glory before Waly and leaves long suffering
chiefs alone to work, or a caretaker USG is
sent to Vienna from New York to clean
up.
Meanwhile Waly's handpicked acting Executive
Director John Brandolino goes through the
motions before his imminent retirement subtly
working to maneuver his friend Candice Welsh
to take over the UNODC Division of Treaty
Affairs which he has long headed. Welsh is
deeply insecure and has no understanding of
terrorism, drugs or organized crime.
Brandolino is intentionally isolating
qualified chiefs in the Division to set her
up, and she is no more than a pretender trying
to get away from the Division of Policy which
she has driven into the ground.
This is Guterres'
UN. And, now, that of USUN -
no response to UN banning this
reporting. MUNGA?
Guterres is the kingpin of the
corruption. Turk as a staffer
on Guterres' 38th floor did
nothing when his boss Guterres
had the critical Press roughed
up and thrown out. There
has been no due process since,
not even a response to Guterres'
Melissa Fleming to a pro bono inquiry
for Inner City Press from the
law firm Quinn Emanuel. On June
19, 2025, this
re-application. In January 2026,
a denieal without any reaons
given. Throughout February and
still, alerts to USUN - no
action, no response. Watch this
site.
