UN GATE,
March 27 – How corrupt is
today's UN under Antonio
Guterres? Today's follow up is
yet once again on his mission
in Colombia, about which his
spokespeople Stephane Dujarric
and Melissa Fleming refuse all
Press questions. Inner City
Press has asked them, and
others, about the newest sex
abuse case against the UN
there. Now this, from a UN
whistleblower sent to Inner
City Press:
Dear Matthew Russell Lee,
The situation in UNVMC is unhealthy and
unbearable for the staff in Mission Support.
Colleagues previously raised concerns about
the new CMS, Yang Wang, (Chinese national /
plant) who has created a toxic work
environment, implementing a controlling and
authoritarian approach instead of upholding
UN core values.
His management style mirrors that of his
country strict regime, where Staff are not
valued and are instead treated as mere
subordinates, expected to follow stupid
orders without question.
As Yang is on leave, he left in charge ,
Igor Kornienko, a Russian junior staff
member, who is similarly controlling and
uses bullying tactics.
A Logistics P4 who had no prior experience
as a section chief or managing people. He
was brought to Colombia promoted to P5 by
the inexperienced Yang, through a
manipulated recruitment process (one of
many!!!) orchestrated by Chief HR Mar
Brusola.
Despite numerous staff complaints
about Mar many misconducts, she was rewarded
by the SRSG with a promotion to P5 which
left all of us in despair as there is no
justice and no fairness. All 3 lack
the basic skills for leading teams and
instead of learning and acquiring what they
need for their new positions, they focus on
micromanaging, controlling and terrorizing
staff. Yang and Igor waste the
UN member states' money as they do not work
or produce but just go around the office to
bully, to show their power and to
monitor arrival and departure times of MSD
team.
The SRSG is not doing anything to address
the problem, we need help
It’s time for some real transparency.
Not just for Mario Paciolla, but for every
person who has suffered due to the UN’s
silence and complicity. The world is
watching, even if the UN hopes otherwise
[Keep it coming]
We'll
have more on all this. Keep the
info coming.
