UN GATE,
Dec 12 – How corrupt is
the UN system under Antonio
Guterres? Well, the day before
Guterres was set amid Gaza,
bombings and hostages to party
down with Sharon Stone and the
UN Correspondents Association
at Casa Cipriani, WIPO in
Geneva did the same. (A year
later on December 13, 2024,
the same sale of Guterres is
planned).
The World
Intellectual Property
Organization under Director
General Daren Tang threw a
lavish party on December 14,
2023, Inner City Press
far-flung whistleblowing
sources told it, and it
exclusively reported.
On December 18, a
complaint was filed with Tang,
citing Inner City Press'
exclusive report: "Dear
Director General Daren Tang,
We write to you as WIPO
whistleblowers.... See article
in the media
https://www.innercitypress.com/ungate1wipoicp121523.html"
Guterres
has said nothing, refusing
through his spokespeople
Stephane Dujarric and Melissa
Fleming to even answer if it
is false that Stone is
receiving a "UN" award from
UNCA, apparently the UN
Censorship Alliance while
Inner City Press which reports
extensively on the UN remains
banned. Now it's Theo James.
On
December 12, 2024 Tang did it
again:
WIPO has become a
Circus today - quite
literally. The Director
General, Daren Tang, is
throwing his annual lavish
Christmas party for
staff. Last year the
theme was James Bond Casino
Royale... This year's theme is
a Circus/Fun Fair... complete
with dressing up, dancing and
drinking... and even a Rodeo
Bull Ring! Daren Tang is
partying down dressed up as
the Ringmaster... Last year
the WIPO whistleblowers wrote
to Secretary General Guterres
about their concerns over
WIPO's lavish Christmas party
and the misuse of financial
resources. But nothing was
done. And as today's party
shows, WIPO continues to be a
Circus, with its Director
General happy to be the
Ringmaster. All this is
against the backdrop of a
crisis at WIPO, with WIPO's
main income stream (Patent
Cooperation Treaty filings) in
decline for several years in a
row - with a massive 8% drop
registered this year (data
until September 2024).
