UN
GATE / SDNY, Sept 20
– For this 2026 UN General
Assembly, the last of Antonio
Guterres' desultory tenure,
Inner City Press banned
by Guterres applied
on July 25 to re-enter and
cover the speeches and section
of next UNSG. No response. On
September 20 UN Spokesperson
Stephane Dujarric had Inner
City Press removed even from a
Zoom briefing, video here.
So
Inner City Press will cover it
from the gate. For the first
day of speeches, September 22,
Egypt and Indonesia dropped
off the list, while Croatia
came in. Here from Inner City
Press, starting with sanctions
violations amid its now
unanswered questions about
Huawei:

(January 17, 2021) — While
Indonesia held the rotating UN
Security Council presidency
during its 2019-2020 term, an
Indonesian cigarette-paper
supplier, PT Bukit Muria Jaya,
agreed to a $1.56 million fine
and deferred prosecution for
sanctions violations tied to
North Korea shipments. Inner
City Press separately
documented Indonesia's UN
Mission blocking it on Twitter
and ignoring written questions
about Cameroon, Somalia, and
West Papua during that same
presidency month.
Egypt

Triggering FSIA Lawsuit in SDNY
(February 5, 2026) — Two Egyptian brothers
protesting outside Egypt's UN Mission on East
44th Street were allegedly dragged inside and
beaten on August 20, 2025; their Foreign
Sovereign Immunities Act suit, El Sammak v. Arab
Republic of Egypt, was filed in SDNY. Inner City
Press noted its own history with the same
mission's neighborhood, having been similarly
removed from UN premises and banned since.

(August 4, 2023) — A case alleging an

And on Croatia,
on UN corruption, just before
Guterres had Inner City Press
roughed up and banned:
