Feb 24 – How corrupt and
decrepit has the UN system
become under Antonio Guterres,
in this case due to Guterres?
Today's example is again from
the Office of the High
Commission for Human Rights,
to which Guterres appointed
his unqualified crony Volker
Turk more than two years ago.
From OHCHR
staff: "Dear Matthew Russell
Lee, We are so grateful for
you efforts to expose UN
corruption. Volker Turk is the
ultimate flamboyant and
pedantic UN bureaucrat.
Protected by his master,
useless, irrelevant and
corrupt Fat Tony Guterres,
Turk opened the Human Rights
Council with a quote that
defines him, that he put on X:
"Human rights are anathema to
supremacy: they are a direct
challenge to those who seek
& cling to power. That is
what makes human rights
radical & that is what
gives them force."
Maybe this
explains his dislike for
whistleblowers. Turk’s
only purpose in OHCHR is to
cling to power while OHCHR
becomes irrelevant. He has
turned a blind eye to the
dismissal of all young
colleagues, he has surrounded
himself with friends and
cronies, he has tolerated the
reprisals against
whistleblowers and he has
wasted millions.
Now OHCHR is a
sad place, bankrupted, full of
cronies like Maarit Kohonen,
Matthias Behnke (Turk’s
protege), Veronica Birga,
Juliette de Rivero, Francesco
Motta, Scott Campbell, Peggy
Hicks or Michael Camilleri
where corrupt Kim Taylor and
Nada Al Nashif (soon to leave)
do all the dirty work. Volker
Turk has depleted OHCHR’s
accounts with his meaningless
initiatives. Worse, he seeks a
renewal of his mandate (and
xpiring this September).
Member states must act to
prevent a renewal by Guterres.
Member states must act now:
audit OHCHR and get a new High
Commissioner for Human Rights
before Volker Turk destroys
OHCHR. This Human Rights
Council should mark the
begining of the recruitment
process for a new High
Commissioner. Volker Turk and
all his cronies must go."

re-applied to re-enter the UN
on June 19, 2025 - no answer
at all from Melissa Fleming,
Tel Mekel, Stephane Dujarric
for six months, then a denial
with no reason at all given.
Today's UN is corrupt.
