Nov 7 – How corrupt is today's
UN under Antonio Guterres?
Today's follow up is on his
mission in Colombia, about
which his spokespeople
Stephane Dujarric and Melissa
Fleming refuse all Press
questions. Inner City Press
has asked them, and others,
about the newest sex abuse
case against the UN there. Now
this, from a UN whistleblower
sent to Inner City Press:
Dear Matthew, Yesterday I read an
article on corruption in the UNVMC. I am
trying to keep a low profile out of fear for
my contract but must speak now and confirm
that corruption has reached an unimaginable
level in this mission.
The selection of Yang Wang as Chief of
Mission Support has still bewildered everybody
although rumors about the possibility were
simmering in the mission. It is true that he
is good in photography and also in golf, in
devising schemes to bring his friends to the
UNVMC, in telling his superiors on the people
he does not favor and ingratiating himself to
the point of absurdity with senior leadership.
He tries to find a flaw with those who he or
his supervisor does not like making a complete
fool of himself for not knowing what he is
doing. He has zero professional competence and
is a laughingstock of the mission for stupid
comments that he makes. There is even a list
of what he said or wrote circulating in the
mission!
He was kicked out from UNSOS when his
benefactor for him he was spying on other
staff left. He then called Eric Ball who
brought him to Colombia. The narcissistic SRSG
would love to have someone who is obedient and
not so bright to say the least under his
command. He gets rid of strong women like the
previous DSRSG and surrounds himself with
people without their own opinion but docile
and “loyal.”
He is invincible and, no matter what he does,
someone protects him and even the OIOS
disgracefully swept his affair with a local
staff member under the carpet. Mar Brusola,
once an untidy looking UNV in Haiti, a corrupt
CHRO brought in by Erich Ball and Yang Wang
has risen quickly in her career through her
romantic relationship with the current CDU
Chief in the mission. She is infamous for her
manipulative and corrupt practices in the
UNVMC and other missions.
