decrepit has the UN system
become under Antonio Guterres,
in this case due to Guterres?
Today's example is again from
the Office of the High
Commission for Human Rights,
to which Guterres appointed
his unqualified crony Volker
Turk more than two years ago.

We know that you care for human rights
and for the realUN. We are appalled by UN High
Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk who
for the last four years has remained silent
about serious human rights violations while
being obsessed with others. Nothing
illustrates Volker Turk’s double moral than
his flagrant silence about the human rights
situation in China. During the last four years
Turk has produced zero reports, conducted zero
investigations, neglected victims and merely
issued 5 tweets.
It is not only that Volker Turk is selective
and biased. The Chinese government has bought
his silence by pumping money into a bankrupted
OHCHR. Since Turk was appointed High
Commissioner in October 2022, China has
donated to OHCHR, 4.9 million USD in 2025, 7m
in 2024, 4 m in 2023. That is 16 million
during Volker Turk’ mandate. During Michelle
Bachelet’s mandate China gave a total of 4
million (1m, 0,8 m and 1,2m and 1 m), that is
four time less and after a big fallout over
that Xinjiang report. [Then she backpedaled, and now
grovels - watch June 30 at 3:40 pm]
Turk has not only refused to criticize China,
he has placed Chinese nationals in strategic
posts in the HR Council, favored those who
applauded his appeasement with cozy jobs in
Vienna, marginalize those who criticized his
silent, dismiss whistleblowers who revealed
that OHCHR has handed names of sources to the
Chinese authorities and favoured the Chinese
goverment agenda. Volker Turk, after four
years, has proven to be guided by a personal
agenda rather than by principles. His only
goal is to be renewed as High Commissioner for
another four years term (something
unprecedented). During his term OHCHR has
become a shadow of what it once was under
principled leader like Mary Robinson, Louise
Arbour or Zeid al Hussein.
He has turned OHCHR into a financial ruin and
the laughing stock of the human rights
community. It is shocking how little member
states care or maybe it is convenient for them
to have a weak High Commissioner rather than a
proper one. Please help us to expose the truth
and to save OHCHR before it is
destroyed. Happy World Whistleblowers

previously seen skydiving in
France then on a lone Sunday
show on CBS, unannounced -
self-booked? Now he has
blithely signed the UN
Charter. July 4, will he be on
the ships in the harbor or
paying on the UN roof? Delays
on FOIA. Meanwhile both Big
Tony and Amina junketed on
April 15 to the IMF which
Inner City Press is accredited
to cover, and at which it
asked questions - but not of
Tony, as UNCTAD denied Inner
City Press to its "side
event." The UN is dying, or
being killed off.
There's a new

for six months, then a denial
with no reason at all given.
Today's UN is corrupt.
