UN GATE,
Nov 24 – How corrupt
is today's UN under Antonio
Guterres? Today's follow up is
yet once again on his mission
in Colombia, about which his
spokespeople Stephane Dujarric
and Melissa Fleming refuse all
Press questions. Inner City
Press has asked them, and
others, about the newest sex
abuse case against the UN
there. Now this, from a UN
whistleblower sent to Inner
City Press:
Dear Matthew Russell Lee,
Dear
Matthew, An investigation into
Jaime Muñoz is supposed to have been
authorized, despite Federico Ledesma’s
persistent attempts to cover it up. It’s
worth noting that Muñoz currently has five
open cases against him for harassment and
abuse of staff. True to form, he is now
desperately seeking ways to retaliate
against those who have come forward, with
the full support of Ledesma and Brusola.
These three wield an alarming amount of
power, which they have used to manipulate
and harm staff in ways that are both
unimaginable and unacceptable.
It has been suggested
that Muñoz, in an effort to evade
accountability, is considering applying for
early retirement—a strategy that has already
been publicly discussed through Inner City
Press. It is no surprise that this move
aligns with his pattern of avoiding
consequences for his
actions. Muñoz has still
managed to influence a few that, like him,
believe that staff are not people rather
machines to exploit.
One
of the team members, Mr. Padilla, seems to
have adopted Muñoz’s toxic leadership style
and now faces three active investigations
for harassment. Meanwhile, Ms. Aragon has
taken a quieter but equally problematic
route. She has leveraged her position to
bring on a man who is not only her family
member but also a business associate.
Together, they run an ice cream company
called Mr. Happy
We'll have
more on all this. No answer from UN
Spox Dujarric on this, or nomination of Elise Stefanik. Keep
the info coming.
