UN GATE, June 15 -- On Western Sahara, Inner City Press has repeatedly asked UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, his spokesman Stephane Dujarric and Communications chief Melissa Fleming about sexual harassment charges against his representatives, which it has exclusively reported as credited here and even here.

   On August 27, 2021 Guterres after massive delay gave the MINURSO post to Alexander Ivanko of the Russian Federation, who previously served as Director of Public Information for the United Nations Mission in Kosovo - where when, before Guterres ousted it, Inner City Press asked Ivanko five questions, four of which he essentially no-commented on, here. 

  Inner City Press was contacted by UN whistleblowers outraged at what they said was already a pro-Morocco scandal at MINURO under - literally - Ivanko. They told Inner City Press that Ivanko has struck up a predatory relationship with a Moroccan woman who was recruited into MINURSO by now-rewarded predator Colin Stewart.

Inner City Press put this question- to all UN spokespeople. Nothing.

So now on June 15, 2024 the series resumes, with more to come:

The UN Security Council met not so long ago to review the UN SG’s Report on Western Sahara and renew the mandate of MINURSO. Guterres is praying no one raises the issue of his Special Representative and Head of Mission, Alex Ivanko, and his relationship with a Moroccan (now former, as far as we know) sex-worker.

Ivanko is a curious case of a Ukrainian who wound up with a Russian passport because his father lived in Moscow. His late father, Sergei (during his brief appointment to a UN position in the Archives at NY HQ during the Cold War), was Kofi Annan’s supervisor back when Kofi was starting out in the UN, and no doubt this connection helped Alex land his first UN job as UNPROFOR spokesperson in Bosnia 1993.

Funnily enough, Ivanko until recently claimed he hasn't been back to Russia in over 30 years for fear his activities in the Balkans (Bosnia first, and then Kosovo in the 90s and early 2000s) in support of NATO may land him in trouble. Or so he says… Yet somehow the Russian Government supported his appointment as SRSG for Western Sahara in 2021 and now he's visited Moscow twice?! And he's about to go again - watch this site.

Guterres' role in orchestrating colonial lies, from Western Sahara to Cameroon, and censoring and banning independent Press and refusing its questions, is decisive.
