UN GATE, July 29
– In the United Nations from
which SG Antonio Guterres has
banned Inner City Press 1099
days for asking about his
complicity in the killing of
civilians in Cameroon and
their mass imprisonment by
China in Xinjiang, on July 29,
2020 German Ambassador
Christoph Heusgen held an
event about Venezuela, to end
his July presidency of the UN
Security Council, see below.
Now UN
failure on Venezuela
continues, with a pointless
gab-fest in Geneva on July 5,
2021. Inner City Press live
tweeted it, here:
now in Geneva a
virtue signaling session on
abuses by #Venezuela, with
whose Maduro corrupt
UNSG Antonio
Guterres has colluded
while banning Press from the
UN 1099 days and
counting.
Now M
Bachelet , who has done
nothing on Antonio
Guterres banning of
Press, calls for ending
sanctions on Venezuela. Note:
Inner City Press has been
reporting on, and getting
unsealed, Venezuela sanctions
violation cases
@SDNYLIVE , no answers
from @UN_Spokesperson
Now M
Bachelet says she
welcomes Madura's recent
statements. Be aware - for
months Bachelet pretended to
be in Geneva when she was not,
while still drawing a full,
inflated salary Now M
Bachelet brags
that Maduro is cooperating
with her. Yeah.
Now response by
Venezuela rep, for 5 minutes
(3 up front, 2 on the end).
Says, "Human rights are fully
respected here." Like in the
UN?
Now Nicaragua,
live, trashing US as
genocidal. Next, European
Union, in a video statement -
mere selfie-style video, not
the full Sandino that
Nicaragua's red and black clad
speaker was rocking. Brazil by
video...
Even by video,
UN's corrupt SG Big
Tony Antonio Guterres
can't bring himself to speak
on Venezuela, even though he
is spending public money to
vacation to his home and
bribe-site in Lisbon, here
Cuba
with an antiquated radiator in
the background (we rate it, 8
of 10 for authenticity; Australia
with smooth wood background,
reading from Tele-Prompter(TM)
- 3 of 10, no imagination
This is France,
on Venezuela to HRC 47,
talking truth not to power but
to his own lap.
Inner City Press gives rare
sympathy rating of 1 out of
10, still better than @NdeRiviere
in NY, no answers on
#Cameroon, banning Press from
his "presser"
Things going downhill at the
UN, and in Japan
foreign relations - this guy
reading a statement off paper
in front of a plain white wall
is Japan's speech to HRC
47 about Venezuela. All
funds devoted to
Olympics ? Sympathy vote 0.5
of 10
On Venezuela at
HRC 47, 2d P-5 speaker is China
- 9 out of 10 on visual
presentation, 0 of 10 on human
rights. Uighur slave labor
and Antonio
Guterres in the pocket
not shown (and note - China UN
Ambassador blocks Inner City
Press on Twitter, like
Guterres' spox
Now Sri
Lanka reads defense of
#Venezuela - but the UN did
nothing on slaughter of the
Tamils, so this is just a
rhetorical dance. Zero of 10.
Now Germany on
Venezuela, while its mission
in NY happily banned
Press along with Antonio
Guterres. This
speaker with Venetian
blinds - the mystery of the
closet with the key raises the
rating to 2 out of 10
And now with a
whimper and not a bang, the
UN's virtual signaling
gab-fest on Venezuela ends.
Nothing accomplished,
while Antonio
Guterres is fast
spending public money in
Lisbon and still banning
Press.
Back in
July 2020, Inner City
Press at first politely
RSVP-ed for the (online)
event; then, getting no
response, it asked more
publicly. Eventually the Zoom
password arrived, and Inner
City Press signed in.
Heusgen told
attendees to "raise their
hand," or indicate in the Chat
they had a question. Inner
City Press did both, even
indicating the topic - prisons
- so there could be no excuse
to continue censorship.
But
censorship continued. Huesgen
called on a person in the chat
who asked after Inner City
Press - and didn't respond
when called on - but refused
to call on Inner City Press,
even after it turned on its
camera and physically /
visually raised its hand.
Those
listed, and complicit in
selective banning of
questions:
H.E. Ambassador
Christoph Heusgen, permanent
representative of Germany
to the UN H.E.
Ambassador José Singer
Weisinger, permanent
representative of the
Dominican Republic to the UN;
Louis Charbonneau, UN
director, Human Rights Watch;
Dr. Kathleen Page, researcher,
Johns Hopkins University
Selene Soto, senior counselor,
Women’s Link Worldwide
